The room overlooks the yard and has a skylight offering views of the night sky. Here we had to let the birds in, in memory of our dear friend and avid bird-watcher John Buxton, a third-generation fly fisherman in Aurland, and his wife Bridget. Buxton never gave up a chance to catch sea trout and, of course, the couple’s honeymoon was also spent by the Aurland river. In his words: ‘A man got to stick to his river’.
